The Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub has announced a new 2025 funding opportunity to assist other organizations in enhancing school food systems and marketplaces. This award has benefitted both Partridge Creek Farm and our community allowing us to provide fresh food to our local cafeterias and we are thrilled to share this opportunity with other organizations. The Lake Michigan School Food Systems Innovation Hub grant is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grant is administered by the Illinois Public Institute of Health (IPHI) with further support from Michigan State University's Center for Regional Food Systems (MSU-CFRS).
Partridge Creek Farm Receives Lake Michigan School Food Systems Innovation Hub Award
Partridge Creek Farm, in collaboration with Marquette Alger RESA, Michigan State University Extension, Chartwells, and Northwoods Test Kitchen, were awarded the 2024 Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub Award to support the Food Futures Project which is helping to bring local produce to Ishpeming and Negaunee school cafeterias.
